Op maandag 26 oktober komt de Nederlandse amateurmusicalwereld samen in het Nieuwe Luxor Theater in Rotterdam voor de uitreiking van het Amateur Musical Awards Gala 2026. Dit seizoen doen meer dan 50 musicalorganisaties mee en tijdens het gala staan zo’n 250 genomineerde spelers op het podium.

De awards geven niet alleen producties en spelers een podium, maar ook makers en alle mensen die achter de schermen bijdragen aan een voorstelling. Voor EVENTIM sluit het partnership dan ook goed aan bij wat we dagelijks doen binnen live entertainment: van lokale producties tot grote shows.

De Amateur Musical Awards werden in 2012 opgericht door Guido van Gend en Bernd Duenk. Hun doel: amateurmusicalproducties én de mensen die ze mogelijk maken een eigen podium geven. Inmiddels zijn de awards uitgegroeid tot een ontmoetingsplek voor musicalverenigingen en makers uit heel Nederland.

Als sponsor verbindt EVENTIM dit jaar zijn naam aan twee hoofdprijzen: EVENTIM Best Musical en EVENTIM Best Musical Drama. Daarnaast verloopt de ticketverkoop voor het Amateur Musical Awards Gala 2026 via EVENTIM.

Voor beide categorieën zijn producties uit heel Nederland genomineerd.

Een amateurmusical op de planken brengen vraagt maanden aan voorbereiding. Naast repetities zijn teams druk met decors, kostuums, techniek, vrijwilligers, promotie én natuurlijk de kaartverkoop. EVENTIM Benelux is sponsoring the Amateur Musical Awards 2026, celebrating the talent, creativity and dedication behind amateur musical theatre across the Netherlands. 

On Monday, 26 October, the Dutch amateur musical theatre community will come together at Nieuwe Luxor Theater in Rotterdam for the awards ceremony. More than 50 musical organisations are taking part this season, with around 250 nominated performers appearing on stage during the gala. 

The awards put productions, performers, makers and everyone working behind the scenes in the spotlight. For EVENTIM, the partnership is a natural fit with its work across live entertainment, from local productions to major shows. 

The Amateur Musical Awards were founded in 2012 by Guido van Gend and Bernd Duenk to give amateur musical productions and the people behind them a stage of their own. Since then, the awards have become a meeting place for musical theatre associations and creators from across the Netherlands. 

As a sponsor, EVENTIM lends its name to this year’s two main awards: EVENTIM Best Musical and EVENTIM Best Musical Drama. Ticket sales for the Amateur Musical Awards Gala 2026 are also handled through EVENTIM.

Putting on an amateur musical takes months of rehearsals and a lot of work behind the scenes. Teams manage sets, costumes, technical production, volunteers, promotion and ticket sales, often with limited time and resources. For smaller organisations in particular, many of these responsibilities sit with the same team.
